Profile

Hi there— I’m Amy Alston, a nephrology-trained pharmacist with infinite scientific curiosity and a natural ability to communicate on science, medicine and health.

I spent 20+ years in academic research at three universities (public and private). This necessitated restarting my translational research enterprise three (!) times. Through the process of developing my research career in multiple environments, I was able to hone my communication skills to effectively and efficiently convey messaging to all relevant stakeholders. During my academic career I was also active in patient and policy advocacy where the messaging strategy is much different (and in many ways more difficult) than traditional scientific communications.

More recently, I spent 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry in a unique role, leading a novel translational pre-clinical program focused on nanomedicine regulatory science. In this position, I was able to expand my communication skills to effectively deliver messaging tailored for manufacturing, clinical development, regulatory, legal and medical affairs stakeholders.

Now, through this diverse lens, I offer clients not only high-quality written deliverables but a strategic plan to leverage your written work.

Currently available for new projects.
